Storm Travel To Evansville To Extend Win Streak

The Quad City Storm aim to extend a three-game winning streak on the road this weekend versus the Evansville Thunderbolts.  The Storm defeated the Thunderbolts last Saturday at the TaxSlayer Center in their first meeting of the season 1-0.

A Streak Of Their Own

Skating against the Storm this weekend is a Thunderbolts team that has lost seven straight games and has been outscored 28-12 over the streak.  Evansville currently sits in last place in the SPHL.

It was less than two weeks ago the Storm were suffering through the same losing streak Evansville is dealing with now and certainly will be able to understand the desperation they will face from the Thunderbolts.

Winning Weekend Would Mean What?

A win, or better yet a pair of wins, this weekend would allow the Storm to keep momentum this win streak has provided and, just as importantly, allow the Storm continue their crawl up the SPHL standings towards a playoff position.  It is still very early in the season but points earned are points earned regardless of time of year.

Three To Watch

1.       Taylor McCloy (QC): After a slow start to the season Taylor McCloy has tallied four points and is +3 in the last five games.

2.       Shayne Morrissey (Evans.): The leading point getter for the Thunderbolts didn’t play against the Storm last weekend.  If he returns to the lineup he will provide a badly needed spark for the Evansville offense.  Morrissey has scored in both his team’s wins this season.

3.       Eric Levine (QC): Levine picked up his first win of the season in shutout fashion versus Evansville last weekend.  He is expected to start in either Friday or Saturday’s game this weekend.
