Storm Can't Overcome Huntsville Power Play

The Quad City Storm dropped their final road game of their inaugural season in Huntsville on Saturday night.

A game that was as spirited as it was frustrating saw the Havoc score first at 8:20 of period one on a power play goal from Ryan Salkeld.

Vincent Beaudry tied the game a minute and twenty seconds later when he backhanded a rolling puck passed Huntsville’s Max Milosek.

Things went downhill in period two when the second ranked powerplay in the SPHL, belonging to the Huntsville Havoc, started to take advantage of their eventual eight power play chances.

The Havoc scored four goals in the second period and one in the third to secure their 35th win of the season.

Storm head coach Dave Pszenyczny was ejected from the game in the second period for breaking a stick on the Storm bench after the seventh penalty called against the Storm granted Huntsville a minute and forty-nine seconds of 5-3 power play time.
