Storm Can't Stop Number One Ranked Rivermen

Quad City was unable to sustain a fast start Friday night versus Peoria and fell to the number one team in the league by a final score of 3-1.

After a scoreless first fifteen minutes Justin Greenberg finished the first of the night for Peoria at 16:27 of the first period short-handed.  Ben Oskroba made it 2-0 57 seconds later with a shot off the post that caromed off the back of Ryan Mulder and in to the net.

Mulder made some stellar saves on the 22 shots he faced in the 34 minutes he was between the pipes but was replaced by Peter Di Salvo after allowing the third goal of the night to Alec Hagaman with just over five minutes left in the second period.

Tommy Tsicos got QC on the board in the first five minutes of period three with a deflected wrist shot but despite the third period being their most impressive of the night, the Storm couldn’t complete the comeback in front of the home crowd.
