Casale, Tsicos Score Twice In 6-3 Win

A rockin’ crowd saw an awesome hockey game Saturday night in Moline that ended in a 6-3 Storm win.

Quad City played their most complete three period game in a month and were fueled offensively by a newly concocted line featuring Tommy Tsicos, Michael Casale and Vincent Beaudry.  The three combined for four goals and four assists in the winning effort.

Casale’s first put the Storm up 1-0 at 9:17 of the first period.

Roanoke pulled even 44 seconds later when Steve Mele barreled in from center ice down to the crease and snapped a shot by Ryan Mulder.

Al Graves played a ferociously physical hockey game.   A big-time collision with Roanoke’s top defender Travis Armstrong got under the big man’s skin enough for him to fight and took him out of the game for five minutes.  During that time the Storm built a 4-1 lead with Casale’s second goal and back-to-back bangers by Tommy Tsicos. Tsicos’ second score came on the power-play which looked drastically improved this week versus Roanoke.

Jordan Carvahlo gave the Rail Yard Dawgs some life when he scored to make it 4-2 Roanoke 2:19 into the third period.  But before any more damage could be done John Scully got the Storm full control of momentum by making it 5-2 with a one-timer assisted by Phil Bronner.

Quad City would go onto win 6-3 courtesy of an ENG from Shane Bennett.  Ryan Mulder was lights out and picked up his first win in a Storm jersey.  The Storm are back Friday and Saturday to take on the Evansville Thunderbolts!  Get your tickets at
