Storm Fight Back, Fall 4-3
Another frustrating night in Knoxville saw the Storm come up just short in a back and forth battle that ended in a 4-3 Ice Bears win.
Just like last night the hosts got out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Bryce Nielsen and Marcus Ortiz at 5:52 of the first and 2:22 of the second respectively.
Shane Bennett made it a one-goal game three and a half minutes into a third period which would see the Storm fight back to a one goal deficit three separate times. Lucas Bombardier scored on the power-play to make it 3-1 and started a flurry of four goals in less than four minutes. Austin Hervey answered the Bombardier goal to make it 3-2, Bryce Nielsen got his second of the night to make it 4-2 and Sean Kacerosky scored 36-seconds later to make it 4-3. A soft tripping call in the final minute hindered the Storm’s ability to make a big final push but the squad still mustered four shots in the final sixty seconds on Pawloski who recorded his second win of the weekend.
The Storm will try and break through next weekend on the road in Huntsville. They’re close.
