Storm Partners with John Deere for Opening Night
The Quad City Storm announced today that Moline's very own John Deere will be the opening night sponsor on October 20 at the TaxSlayer Center.
“John Deere is proud to sponsor the Quad City Storm’s opening night. Beyond the entertainment value, the Storm will also benefit the Quad Cities through a positive economic impact and charitable activities, said Mara Downing, President of the John Deere Foundation and Director of Global Brand Management and Corporate Citizenship. She added, "Ensuring the success of minor league sports like the Storm ultimately enhances the Quad Cities’ cool factor, helping our region grow talent, jobs, and investments.”
Quad City Storm President Gwen Tombergs said, “Having John Deere as a partner gives us solid footing that companies believe we should keep hockey in the Quad Cities. Professional sports teams are an amenity that is a workforce attraction and helps make our community a cool place to live. We are thrilled to be partnering with John Deere,” she added.
The Storm will also kick off their commitment of giving back to the community with a portion of the ticket sales going to United Way on opening night. They have also committed that every game this season will feature work with a different nonprofit who will receive the proceeds of the Chuck-A-Puck contest. All this and more will be part of the #QCSTORMCARES initiative in the inaugural season.
The Quad City Storm are expected to open their training camp in early October prior to October 13’s preseason game against the Peoria Rivermen at Peoria's very own Carver Arena. The Storm's regular-season schedule is set to begin October 20 against the Peoria Rivermen at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline.
