Offense Comes Alive In 5-1 Win

The offense came alive at the TaxSlayer Center Friday night as the Storm snapped a seven-game skid with a 5-1 win over the Evansville Thunderbolts.

Cody Walsh got the party started with the lone first period score at 10:38 on the power play to open the scoring.

Quad City added to their lead in the second with a pair of goals scored by Dalton Mills and Vladimir Nikiforov.  Mills ripped home a wrist shot off a beautiful feed from Vinny Caligiuri and Nikiforov snapped home the backboard carom off a wide one-timer from Mitch Mueller.

Caligiuri earned his second point of the night when he made it 4-0 in the third and John Scully set the final score at 5-1 when he buried a backdoor feed from Dalton Mills to make it 5-1.  Mills finished with a goal and three assists and was named the first star of the game.
