#1 Ranked Storm Power-Play Goes Cold In Loss

Friday night at the TaxSlayer Center the Storm dropped another close game against the Peoria Rivermen.

John Scully opened the scoring in the first period when he fired a perfectly placed wrist shot passed Rivermen netminder Stephen Klein.  Cody Walsh and Dalton Mills recorded the assists and Quad City carried the lead into the second period.

Ben Oskroba tied the game for Peoria at 8:46 of the second and Austin Vieth deflected a pass from the point behind Eric Levine with 1:40 left in period two to make it 2-1 Rivermen.

The 1st ranked Storm power-play went 0-fer on the night, including a five-minute major in the third period which ultimately sealed their fate.  Mike Gurtler added an ENG to give the Rivermen their sixth straight win, 3-1.

The Storm are back at the TaxSlayer Center for their final game before Christmas.  Get your tickets at QuadCityStorm.com.
