Flyers Take Down Storm 2-1

The Quad City Storm lost Friday night in Pensacola 2-1.

Three periods were played but the game felt like a two-half affair.  With 2:14 remaining in the second period the power in Pensacola Bay Center went out for a little over an hour as part of an outage that covered a large portion of the city of Pensacola.

Pensacola scored twice in the first period. Daniel Perigo scored at 12:27 of the first and Carter Struthers made it 2-0 two minutes and 43-seconds later.

QC came out of the first intermission and controlled play in the second.  Late in the period the Ice Flyers started to regain momentum, and then the lights went out.

The game resumed and saw the Storm cut the lead in half when Tommy Tsicos forced a turnover in the corner and moved the puck up the boards to Phil Bronner, who tapped it to Joe McKeown, who slid it Cody Walsh, who buried a slapshot from the blue line.  The goal capped the scoring to give Pensacola their second straight home win.

The Storm return to the ice tomorrow for a 7:05 puck drop.  Catch all the action live on 107.7 WQUD-FM Vintage Radio.
